Technology Safeguards in Your Home

Concerned by all the Internet-connected devices your family interacts with? In this session Troy will review five practical technology safeguards to help limit your family’s exposure to pornography. He will cover the basics of how to use parental controls and filters, share his own real-life plan for helping his own teens stay safe from pornography, and conduct a Q&A session to answer your questions.

Troy Davis is the Director of Technology for the Missionary Department of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, where he provides Internet filtering for thousands of LDS Missionaries who use mobile devices. At home, he currently has three teenagers he has been teaching to learn how to use media and the Internet safely. Troy has also worked in product management, marketing, and technology positions at Hewlett Packard and IBM. He has an MS in Management Information Systems and a BS in Business, both from Brigham Young University
